AI for a more Creative process

🩷 A little personal note from Nicole (CEO and founder of Sow-It) 🩷

At our little Sow-It Giftshop, we have a sincere passion for crafting beautiful, personalized and unique gifts. We also love to embrace the power of technology to enhance the creative process, and to make your customer experience even better. Artificial intelligence, or AI, has become an indispensable tool in our approach, sparking new ideas, have AI help us brainstorm on our designs, helping us pushing our boundaries by enhancing our creative process, while also helping us to create and optimize our business as we go. We think you can see AI as a digital Swiss Knife, a super handy tool with which you can do nearly anything, as long as you know how or are creative enough to find new ways.

I would like to tell you a little bit about my experience and journey with AI and about my thoughts, feelings and idea’s regarding the use of AI, now and in the future.

First things first: It is not about replacing the human touch with robots.
I would rather say it’s about creating more space for us to focus on the aspects that truly require our expertise, and where the human touch is most needed. There is so much to learn in life, things to see, things to do, but so little time to actually do it. Especially when one is incredibly creative this can be pretty frustrating now and then. Therefor I believe in using all the tools that are available to us, and to keep on learning every single day. Only then we will fully feel satisfied as we try to reach our full potential.

How AI amplifies My creative Process

By using AI, we are able to streamline various aspects of the workflow, allowing me to be more efficient and focused on the core elements of creating unique and personalized designs and gives me time to really indulge myself into my creative process. AI helps me to analyze different keywords and trends, which then provides me with actionable information. It is also a great tool to help me with planning the structure of my website and how I should set everything up. Making a website is a lot more work than I ever thought it to be. One thing that I also got pointed out by AI is how to be in line with all the rules and safety protocols to keep you, my valued customers, safe. That’s the fun of it, AI knows stuff and shoves it under your nose, making you think ‘AHAAAA that’s true, didn’t even think of that yet’. 😋
With these tools, I can get rid of the repetitive tasks, which allows me to put all of my energy into creating the designs that I believe will truly connect with people. Brainstorm on new ideas for possible amazing and unique gifts, discovering new ways to craft what we envision. We are not just using AI because it's cool or fancy, but because it helps us create a better product, and to better connect to our customers.

And trust me on this one, setting everything up is still a massive bone to chew on, even with the help of AI. I still need to decide every single thing, come up with original ideas, triple check everything AI provides me… since AI can be sometimes a tad silly here and there in it’s understanding. But that all adds to the fun in the end.

AI as a Creative sparring Partner

It's also important to highlight that AI, in my opinion, should be seen as a collaborative partner, not a replacement. I personally use it to brainstorm ideas, to try out new things, and to test out my concepts and SEO strategies. It's like having a digital companion that helps me explore the unexplored and to create something that I would not have thought about before, which is something that I value a lot! By using AI as a brainstorming partner, I am also able to think more strategically, and to explore things in a way that would have been impossible if I was all alone. It is always important to keep learning and to continue to expand your knowledge. Weren’t it for AI, I would not have a fancy looking Header and menu-bar like it now for example. I had to came up with what I wanted myself though, but AI guided me through how to achieve that what I envisioned. Especially as a young company, such things could cost so much money if you need to have it done by a professional. Now, we get to spend it on our resources, which then helps in keeping our prices balanced… and that… is good for you! ;)

Using AI to Create a Unique Experience

We at Sow-It, are not only focused on creating special items, but we are also very focused on creating a unique experience for all of our customers. The customer comes first for us, and I also believe that AI has enabled us to take that even further by understanding our audience, understanding their needs, and focusing on the products that will make them happy. As AI continues to evolve, I believe that it will also provide us with more opportunities to get even closer to the people we are doing this all for. It is also a tool to help us make all of our designs even more unique and to deliver something that is a true work of art. AI helps to visualize what is already in our minds, yet we lack the time or tools and probably even education to create it. And how wonderful is it when people that are super creative or have an incredible imagination and give them an outlet. It’s like giving someone that cannot speak a computer to have a voice, it’s magical.

AI is a tool, like a laser-engraver

On another note, AI in the way of being a tool, is like our super amazing X-Tool Diode Laser Engraver. I have all the tools in my workshop at hand to craft a unique design onto a glass or wood by hand with my Dremel tools for example, or my pyrograph tool. But if I would do that I don’t think I would have enough time to make something for all of my customers nor have a satisfying price-tag. So I use my laser engraver to help me out with that, of course a laser engraved design is different from a hand-engraved design and that is ok, it’s unique in it’s own way and opens up a lot more possibilities. Laser-engraved designs can often be way more complicated or precise than the hand-crafted designs for example, where as the hand-crafted designs are often filled with a unique flair from hard handwork compared to a laser-engraved design.

The Future is Now: more creative, beautiful and fun as ever!

With a combination of creativity, passion, and the magic of AI we aim to make this world a bit more beautiful, a bit more fun, and a lot more special for all. I really believe that it provides me with new opportunities, more unique gifts, and that I will be able to enhance my abilities in design, SEO, and also connect with my customers in new and unique ways. I am very happy to have these tools available to me, as they give me the possibility of creating even more meaningful and unique products for all of you. I have planned to create so much more with all these amazing tools at my disposal and I hope to be of inspiration or in anyway a help to all you amazing people out there. Inspiring music, cool video’s, mesmerizing stories, a unique and nice community, gifts and so much more is what I think and hope to have in store. Stay tuned!
